After a week of long-anticipated spring weather, I’m in the mood for al fresco cocktails and plenty of city exploring. To start the weekend off on the right food, I’m mixing up this strawberry cocktail recipe from Jjbegonia.

1 Pint Strawberries, Sliced
3 Sprigs Fresh Thyme
2 Cups Water
2/3 Cup Sugar
- Over low heat, mix sugar, water, and strawberries in a saucepan. Sim for half an hour to create a thick syrupy substance.
- Add thyme and a pinch of black pepper. Cook on low for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool. Ddscard the thyme stems.
- Combine 1 part of your favorite vodka and 2 parts syrup over ice.
